Beginning the next chapter

Today marks the beginning of the rest of our lives. This morning at 11:30 C. left for Tampa. He has one last stop at MEPs and then he will be on his way to BMT in San Antonio tomorrow.
Wednesday morning he will be woke up by screaming TI’s, bracing himself for the next eight weeks ahead of him. I believe that Basic Training is one of the most physically and emotionally draining processes one can go through (aside from deployment.) It scares me to think that he is alone in a place that he has never been, with no one that he has ever met completing countless procedures he has never attempted. I know C. is strong and I know he will do well. It is hard knowing that my best friend is 1,200 miles away for the next two months. Luckily, I have faith in us and in our relationship. I know that the next eight weeks will allow us to encounter strength that neither of us knew we possessed.
